Alignment is the key to a successful strategy for any organization; in addition, it is also the focus of that alignment that assists in determining the strategy required to achieve success. Each person’s perceptions are unique since each person is influenced by the view of the conditions around them, but it is the alignment of the whole of the organization which clarifies. How well every individual understands and agrees on the actions of the organization will determine tactics and direction needed to obtain the target goal. The closer a grouping is plotted on the grid the more aligned the thinking and perception of the whole organization on that method. In comparison, the wider the scattering of individual perceptions, the weaker the overall effectiveness of the organization and in turn, the larger and more complex the solution to succeed.
There are various types of alignment maps. Each scatter map tells an underlining story about an organization. Some of the more basic maps are;
